Canada Day Celebrations Announced
Chapel Arm Sports and Recreation Plans Week of Events
Chapel Arm Sports and Recreation Committee will be hosting a series of events from July 1st to July 10th to celebrate Canada Day.
On July 1st, the committee will be hosting multiple events throughout the day. From 12-3pm, Family Fest will be held at the Chapel Arm Community Centre. Carnival games and prizes will be available during the event. This year, the committee will be offering barbecued moose burgers during the event, with proceeds benefitting Chapel Arm Sports and Recreation Committee’s programming. From 8-9pm, the annual Wiener Roast will be held at Western Cove Beach, with free hot dogs and marshmallows for all who attend. At 9:45pm, fireworks will be lit at Southern Cove Beach.
On July 2nd at 7:30pm, the committee’s regular Cornhole night is getting a festive upgrade! All fees for this night will go to the winners in the form of fun prizes. This 19+ event is open to all skill levels at the regular entrance price of $15 at the door. Advance registration is not required.
On July 3rd at 7pm, Chapel Arm Community Centre will be the location of a 19+ games night. The committee will provide household favourite card games like poker and rummoli, as well as a variety of board games. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own board games. Registration for card games is required, either by contacting Tracy at 709-687-0398 or sportsandrec@chapelarm.ca and will guarantee a spot at the table of your choice.
On July 5th at 7pm, the committee will be hosting a free Paint Night event for ages 14+ at the Chapel Arm Community Centre. Registration is required and will be on a first come, first served basis. Register by contacting sportsandrec@chapelarm.ca
The Annual Bobber Race will take place at noon on July 10th, with bobbers available for purchase at the Town Office, Canada Day events, and from committee members until 10am on July 10th.
