Garbage Collection

Waste disposal in Chapel Arm is covered under the Eastern Regional Service Board. Household waste collection takes place weekly, and recyclables are collected bi-weekly. The waste collection schedule can be found here.

There are two scheduled bulk garbage collection events listed on the waste collection calendar.  Please follow the regulations on the Eastern Regional Service Board website.  Bulk garbage may also be dropped off at the nearest waste collection location, Whitbourne Waste Recovery Facility, during their hours of operation. Please refer to the waste collection schedule for bulk collection dates for Chapel Arm. The town asks that residents refrain from dumping garbage in front of the Town Office or anywhere else in the Town. This is not permitted and will be considered littering. 

 

If there are items that are not picked up during the bulk collection, please contact Eastern Regional Service Board at 709-579-7960. Please check the website prior to making the call to ensure that the items that you placed out are acceptable for bulk collection. Electronics such as televisions and tires have never been picked up on bulk collections days. These items must be brought to the waste facility in Whitbourne for disposal.

Household hazardous waste may be brought to Robin Hood Bay in St. John's, or brought to Household Hazardous Waste events nearby.
