Community Garden

The Town of Chapel Arm is proud to announce that construction has begun on the creation of public food security infrastructure.

In partnership with the Food Producers Forum, Council was successful in obtaining a Local Food Infrastructure Fund – Small Scale Projects funding through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada toward a dedicated Community Garden and Earth Sheltered Greenhouse. This infrastructure will allow residents to grow their own food year round and will provide critical donations to the Chapel Arm Food Pantry and other local food banks. The project will also create opportunities for residents and students attending Holy Family Elementary to learn about growing and preserving their own food in an environmentally sustainable setting.

Work has begun at the former playground at 282 Main Road and will continue in the coming weeks. Newer playground equipment was moved to the Old Cabot Highway playground as part of the project.

We ask that the public refrain from accessing the site during construction, and look forward to welcoming gardeners in the near future.
